Warranty Lookup

Not sure if your unit is still under warranty or if it was ever registered?

You will need the serial and model numbers for each unit. This information is located on a product sticker directly on the unit. For furnaces, the sticker is sometimes inside the cabinet. Indoor and outdoor units have different serial numbers and need to be registered separately. For example, if you have a ductless system, each wall mounted unit will have a separate serial number and the outdoor unit will have one as well.

Certain brands do not require or allow homeowners or contractors to register the warranty. These warranties begins on the manufactured date.

Have a Labour Warranty?

Labour warranties can be sold by the contractor who installed your equipment but are typically offered through third party dealers. Labour warranties are usually only available within the first year of initial purchase. Be wary of contractors offering you a plan later than this as it could be a scam. Typically you will need to sign a contractor detailing the terms of the agreement, you should be given a copy. If you have a labour plan and did not receive a copy of the agreement, you can always contact the company you bought it from and ask for a copy.

When these plans are purchased from third party organizations, regardless of the contractor you may have purchased it from, you are entitled to receive your service from any contractor registered with the program.

If you are unhappy with the service you are receiving or if that company is no longer in business, you can choose another company to receive your labour services. You can do this by contacting the third party directly to find registered contractors in your area, or you can find a contractor you like and ask them if they are enrolled in that program.
